The Sibylline Saga

Gwenna, an over-powered sibyl with abilities of coercion, telepathy, and precognition, struggles to come to grips with what she is capable of – and what she is willing to do for the greater good of those she loves.

1. The Forest Witch

Beware, beware the Child, who has no need of tales
She’ll turn your hand and smile, the wild thing unveiled.

Gwenna was born the Child of the Prophecy, a plague of coercion and telepathy to be unleashed upon the world. But this fate was thwarted long ago. She was sent far away, under the care of an elderly scholar named Michael, to grow up in isolation in the Sacred Wood.

Gwen has known only happiness in the Wood, content to run wild forever beneath the ancient, gnarled trees. She ignores her gruesome nightmares, which may or may not be prophecies. She overlooks Michael’s small lies about her origins. She’ll do anything to stay where she is safe – and where others are safe from her.

But the outside world is encroaching more and more every day, and soon Gwen’s vows to never use her heinous abilities will be tested for the first time. It is a test she will fail again and again, bringing her closer to becoming that monster from her nightmares with every step she takes.

For Gwen was born the Child of the Prophecy, and she fears that’s a fate she’ll never be able to escape.

2. The Giant Singer

In your hour of greatest need, look deep into the West.
Rooted firm in myth and mist, that’s where the Giants rest.

Nora has lived in the shadow of the Mountain her entire life, and she’s never looked at it twice. It looms over her quiet town to the west, the resting place of the ancient Giants. It’s sacred ground, and no human has ventured there in centuries.

But her country is at war, and Nora has received very specific training for a cartographer who never travels. So it shouldn’t surprise her when a mysterious man comes to town with a ranger in tow and a mission for them both.

The stoic ranger, Eoghan, stays by her side, charged with keeping Nora alive in the wilderness of the Mountain. Their task is straightforward: climb the Mountain, find the fabled Clarion, wake up the Giants, and end the war once and for all.

Eoghan is certain the Giants are just stories from his childhood. But when they find the Clarion right where Nora’s maps indicated, he begins to believe the impossible. His job is to get them both safely to the peak. But if the Giants are real, it may be safer to go back down.

3. The World Mother

There he gathers to him, the laughing, loving dark.
But restless spirits cannot live on simple human spark.

When Gwenna hears a siren call in the night, she travels to a far distant country across the sea to discover its source. There, she encounters the great stone Giants of Lujor and a prophecy that could end it all.

There is a hole in the universe – a breach into the void between worlds – and Gwen will do anything to find it before it’s too late. Her search leads her to Amau, where a tightly knit family led by Arlo, called the Dragon, is waging war against the south. But the Dragon’s family has a secret, one they’ve faithfully kept for over a century. And it’s a secret Gwen will discover, even if she has to start a clandestine war of her own to do it.

Because as terrifying as the Dragon and his armies may be, that’s something Gwen has little interest in – just another war among men. What truly scares her is the lady upstairs, the gentle, soft-spoken wife of the Dragon, with golden hair and eyes as empty as the space between trees.

4. The Old Kind

Believe everything you hear about the Old Kind.
That way, you’ll never be caught unawares.

A grieving flax spinner descending into madness. A fiery rebel stuck between land and sea. Two sisters, divided by faith and determination. An immortal man, and the ravens that watch him from the trees.

The Old Kind lurk at the edge of these stories. Almost gone, but never forgotten. The Weaver hungers for life and magic. The Mermaid aches for her family. The Shadow Wolf stands guard at the door. And Death gently waits at the end.

These four stand-alone tales – The Glass Wheel, Bluewater, Starsong, and Raven’s End – explore the overlooked corners of the Sibylline Saga universe. These are stories of hope and healing, where the bond between sisters, the bravery to truly feel, and steadfast love can conquer all.
